Something to cheer you up

Holidays arrive to a nostalgic and rainy end... Fortunately, friends come home from summer vacations and it's nice to give them a warm and sweet welcome:)

I made a chocolate sponge roll cake, layered it with raspberry jam and peach flavoured mascarpone with rhum... Whole covered with whipped cream...
Truly delicious:)

With leftovers I managed to improvise a quick trifle. It would be a pity to waste any of the stuff.

Now I'm well prepared for autumn chill.

I happened upon your site hoping for a slice of Sopot, my birthplace. Even though I did not find what I was looking for (maybe you can point me in the right direction – I am looking for a lifestyle blog on Sopot), I checked out your archives (practically swooning at your cherry pierogi picture ;-) and was shocked at some of the comments posted, mainly from the “anonymous”. Last time I looked, Poland was a free country and as her citizen, you have a right to post whatever you desire (within the guidelines of Internet etiquette). No one is forcing the anonymous to: 1. Follow your diet 2. Read your blog . And really, why would anyone care if you drink a red, dry wine or a dry red wine. How petty…
I think the real problem is pure and simple jealousy. Obviously, you have a lot going for you and the anonymous must resent it (sadly, that’s a typical polish trait). By the way, where is her blog?
Keep on blogging...

beata isabella : Thank you for your support! I do not really care about all those bitter comments and I can assure you that my blog will go on!
I am preparing to start a new blog on Sopot - as it is a very special place for me but before that I promise to put some latest photos here for you:)

And one thing more - in the links you will find my blog sport - there are some pictures from the swimming race around Molo!

I do think that a lot of the stuff in the blog is just plain uninteresting. Piles and piles of icecream? Whipping cream chocolate cakes in the middle of summer? That's just weird, man!

Jocelyn,
You know the old addage "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all!"
And why are you lurking around here - there are millions of other blogs to criticize...

beataisabella,

and why shouldn't I?

The adage is silly and it would imply one could never say anything critical about anything (because we are always supposed to be nice??? what kind of a nonsense is it?).

If one were to live with this adage, you would never see criticism of governments, of aesthetic/artistic experiences, of merchandise etc.
Sometimes things are just bad, plain and simple and it does not hurt to shine a little light on it.

I didn't realize this blog was to be a mutual adoration society, a reciprocating pleasure center.

Get real and get on with life and not with pretending.

Jocelyn, your English is far from perfect.

Gagatka, you're absolutely beautiful and I enjoy admiring your cakes. I began to fall a little bit in love with the Polish girls when I was in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY a few weeks ago. Your eyes and your smile... they are every bit as sweet as the pastries you photgraph must certainly be.

When I return to Europe, we must meet for kolače i kava and French kissing.
